Since I am a very private person, I don't see myself using a blog in my personal life. However, this has potential professionally. So I have been looking at various library-related blogs. And, of course, reading one, leads to another, then on to the next.... In other words, I am now on an odyssey within an odyssey! The 2 that particularly caught my attention today are http://www.librarybytes.com/ by Helene Blowers (I think she is the maven of Web 2.0 and libraries) and http://otherlibrarian.wordpress.com/.
I would like to use a blog on a weekly, if not daily basis, to feature Youth Services programs and information like Web links and reading lists relevant to the current curriculum. This would keep information current. If comments were allowed, interactivity would be encouraged. I've noticed that, while some libraries allow comments, many do not. There are pros and cons for each approach.
